BORN: April 26, 1905 in Borden, Indiana

DIED: January 20, 1999, in Madison Florida

Talented artist proficient as a painter, illustrator and sculptor, designer, educator and lecturer.

He received his art training at the Layton School of Art in Milwaukee, the School of the Chicago Art Institute, and Ohio State University.

Member of Wisconsin Painters and Sculptors organization.

He participated in the governments New Deal art program, and painted a mural titled "Winter Landscape" at the Lake Geneva, Wi Post Poffice in 1940. He also created the sculpture "Mother and Sons" for the Perennial Garden at Boerner Botanical Gardens in Milwaukee.

Became head of the sculpture department at Layton School of Art from 1929 - 1937, professor of sculpture and painting at the University of Michigan, instructor of Industrial Design at Milwaukee School of Engineering, University of Wisconsin 1946-1953,

Her also served in the U.S. Navy 1936-1946.
